PURE REASON REVOLUTION - COMING UP TO CONSCIOUSNESS
Pure Reason Revolution have announced the release of their upcoming new studio album "Coming Up To Consciousness" via InsideOut Music on 6th September 2024. The album will be released on vinyl, compact disc and CD/DVD bundle. The band also releases a limited edition rarities CD entitled "In The Realms of the Divine", exclusively available on this website in bundles with the new album.
"Coming Up To Consciousness" is Pure Reason Revolution's sixth studio album and the third of their renaissance after the break that began with "Eupnea" from 2020 and continued with "Above Cirrus" from 2022. Like its two predecessors, the new album is also very personal. The eight tracks are all between four and seven minutes long - short by PRR standards - and they deal with different types of darkness. The band's unmistakable style, which combines prog and pop through dreamy moods, epic riffs and angelic harmonies, has remained. However, Jon Courtney and Greg Jong have also tried to take a slightly different path by incorporating influences from Talk Talk, Elliot Smith, The Smile and even Arctic Monkeys alongside their all-time favourites - Pink Floyd in particular.
Legendary session musician Guy Pratt, who has worked with Pink Floyd among others, contributed bass guitar on seven of the eight tracks, while Jon Sykes of The Pineapple Thief played bass on one song. Bruce Soord, also from The Pineapple Thief, mixed the album in stereo and for the first time for PRR in Dolby Surround Sound.
"Coming Up To Consciousness" will be available as Ltd. CD+DVD Digipak (including 5.1 Surround Sound & High Resolution 24-bit Stereo Mixes), Standard CD Jewelcase, Digital Album (also in Dolby Surround) and as Limited Gatefold Coloured ReVinyl LP. ReVinyl is a sustainable alternative in which the record is made from 100% recycled PVC granulate from material recovery (e.g. from shredding edge trimmings and other vinyl production residues).

Together with "Coming Up To Consciousness" the band releases the rarities CD "In The Realms Of The Divine". The album contains 12 tracks from the early days of the band and contains demoes, single tracks and remixes. The sleeve contains extensive liner notes from both Jan and Greg. "In The Realms Of The Divine" will only be available on CD!
